The housing bubble has just burst, and the US economy is teetering on the brink of what will end up being the greatest financial crisis since the Great Depression. People are scared about the future of their company and are cutting corners where they can. Not everyone is eager to spend money on team building.

Team Building Exercise: Break the Ice & Be a Hero

How do you reach great feats and save the day? With a team, of course. Where would Batman (nay, Gotham!) be without Alfred? Doesn’t Super Mario need a little help from Toad and Luigi on occasion? Of course!

Team Building Tip: Surprise me! But really, no.

It may seem like a good idea to surprise your team with a team building exercise, but this is generally a no-no. It is much easier to encourage participation, have fun, and enjoy an event when participants are not surprised. That being said, don’t tell them everything about the event, because it will ruin the fun.

I’m Joyce Ngo – public relations enthusiast, student, and currently TeamBonding marketing intern.
