This one’s all about the name! It’s a song about the combined forces of close friendships and teamwork.

A Song About Teamwork

Lorde is only 18 years old and is already a Grammy Award-winning musician. She hails from New Zealand, and wrote the song “Team” while traveling and touring the world. She has described the song as a “tribute to her friends”. The lyrics call on the feeling of being part of a close and tight-knit group of peers, and being a member of a unit. Her friends are her “team”. It’s a song about teamwork within a group of friends.

Normally the word “team” is associated with athletics. But being a part of a team does not have to apply exclusively to sports or other types of organizations – like Lorde, your “team” could also be a group of friends or family members who work together and look out for each other.

“…and you know, we’re on each other’s team.”
