Beastie Boys are probably not what first comes to mind when we think about winning music. They’re best known for songs like “Fight For Your Right (to Party)” and “Girls”. Most of their songs are anything but “inspirational”. However, they recently came out with a song called “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win” and we can really relate. This song is about a winning attitude, and having the confidence in yourself (and your team) to achieve the success you strive for. In this song, Beastie Boys talk themselves up like they have something to prove. It reminds us that if you go into what you do with the right mindset, anything is possible – and you’ll be surprised how much you can accomplish. “Don’t Play No Game That I Can’t Win” means start (or finish) anything with a negative outlook or no goals to work towards. You are your own biggest competition!
