The Catalyst Conference gathered Catalyst leaders from across the globe to share new programs, ideas, success stories, and have fun!
We learn early in our lives that it’s better to win, and in order to win, we need to be competitive.
In business and in life, people are rewarded and praised for success, which creates a culture where we don’t learn from failure.
Be a good leader: Pay attention! Complacency at work leads to less innovation, less trust and less loyalty within your organization. Are you encouraging change? Do you reward failure? Is turnover on the rise? Are you making decisions based on intuition and information? Or, only to relieve a sense of anxiety? (more…)
Team building applies to any field, even a football field. Following my favorite sports teams is my number one hobby! It’s fascinating to see how the most intense sports teams perform; the way they communicate, work together and understand each other. As fans, we care about the win! However, we have no idea what effort goes on behind the scenes. I realize that to have such a fierce demeanor as a team, it takes some work, teamwork. For players to cooperate, commit, and triumph, they first establish a fundamental core with team building.
Company culture is becoming a more important aspect of the workplace. Now more than ever, companies are going all out to provide a wonderful experience for their employees. The focus has shifted to making sure they’re happy, engaged and having fun at work. After all, it’s a big factor when choosing where to work. Having fun is key to effectively managing and improving employees’ productivity as it contributes directly to your company culture. It also improves teamwork, builds better trusting relationships and can help increase retention rates.
Many people are working longer and harder, thinking that this will solve the problem of an ever-increasing workload. But they are still falling behind, becoming chronically overwhelmed, and burning out. Work is where we spend much of our time. (more…)
United we stand. Divided we fall. Some of the strongest bonds are forged in the face of challenge and adversity. War, economic collapse, social protests—these circumstances bring people all different backgrounds, from different walks of life; in ways that they might never have met. However, not all bonds are forged on challenge alone. Sometimes teams find their foundations in activities that combine fitness, competition, and good-humored fun.
Have you made a team building resolution for the New Year?! You should!
They say there’s nothing like a little friendly competition to bring people together. After over 20 years of creating, hosting, and experiencing team building activities, we have proof to back that up. People love a little friendly competition, so much so that most of our programs feature some competative elements.
You’ve probably heard the expression “work smarter not harder”. This witty phrase is supposed to remind us that, especially in office environments, the success of the work we do is not necessarily based one how much time we put in. Instead, success is determined by how well we use this time. By learning to work smarter, we can increase workplace productivity.
Halloween is just around the corner. My daughters are picking out their ghoulish costumes … one a princess and the other a dead bride (gulp). Seems as kids get older the scarier their costumes get, my princess is 5 and my bride is 10. By the time kids become adults they can get even scarier — some even become Vampires, and they wear their costume to work, everyday.
Valentine’s Day is the sweetest holiday of the bunch.
Results are very important to companies and team leaders, but how team members interact with each other to achieve results is often a neglected aspect of managing a team. (more…)
