One of the most meaningful songs I’ve ever heard is “Lean On Me” by Bill Withers. Inspired by his tough upbringing, Withers crafted lyrics that came from his heart and expressed the gratitude he had towards his friends when times were hard.

If you’ve never looked up the lyrics to this song, I suggest you do it and really take in what Bill Withers is singing about. This song is all about acknowledging defeat and weakness and having a shoulder to lean on in times of need:

It’s a song that many people can relate to, and a classic of the times. Surround yourself with people who will be there for you when you need a hand, and vice versa. It’s those strong bonds and friendships that keep us going, and help us to believe in ourselves when we’re feeling down.
