This week’s tune is a song about self-value and finding people who will accept you and value you at all times.
A Song About Self-Value
“Know Your Worth” – Khalid, Disclosure
Khalid is an American singer and songwriter from Texas. He debuted his first studio album in 2017. Since then he has won many music awards and in 2019 Times Magazine named him as one of the 100 most influential people of the year. Disclosure is an electronic music duo from England. Brothers Howard and Guy Lawrence released their debut studio album in 2013 which was nominated for a Grammy. In 2020 Khalid and Disclosure decided to collaborate on the hit single “Know Your Worth.” The song sends a message about self-value and not letting someone else take you for granted. It is a great message that can be applied to many different areas of life. Whether it be your personal life, love life, or in your career you should always know your worth and not let someone else undervalue you.
“…Find someone who loves you at your worst”
Lyrics
I don’t know what you been waiting for
So you’ve got your love locked up instead
But somethin’ better’s waitin’ at your door
All the things I know that you deserve
Say it’s not real if it doesn’t hurt
Find someone you know will put you first
Find someone who loves you at your worst
Gotta keep, gotta keep, gotta keep your head up
Gotta keep, gotta keep, gotta keep your head up
Who puts you first?
Find someone who loves you at your worst
Picking you up when you’re feelin’ down
You get strung on thoughts left in your head
When you lose hope, soon you will be found
All the things I know that you deserve
Say it’s not real if it doesn’t hurt
Find someone you know will put you first
Find someone who loves you at your worst
Gotta keep, gotta keep, gotta keep your head up
Gotta keep, gotta keep, gotta keep your head up
Who puts you first?
Find someone who loves you at your worst
Gotta keep, gotta keep, gotta keep your head up (keep your head up, keep your head up)
Gotta keep, gotta keep, gotta keep your head up
Who puts you first?
