Gonna stand my ground, won’t be turned around,
And I’ll keep this world from draggin’ me down,
Gonna stand my ground and I won’t back down.
Tom Petty makes feel-good music for any occasion, and “I Won’t Back Down” is one of his most inspirational songs. It’s simple, and the lyrics aren’t complicated or confusing. He talks about standing your ground and not letting the world or outside factors bring you down:
Well I know what’s right, I got just one life
In a world that keeps on pushin’ me around
But I’ll stand my ground and I won’t back down
Never let anybody or anything stand in the way of what you want to do! If you believe that what you’re doing is important, then prove it by having confidence in yourself and never letting your goal be diminished. Don’t back down, and don’t quit on something just because it’s difficult!

Virtual Reality Now Available As A High Tech, High Touch Team Building Event Let’s travel in time back to the ’90s when Virtual Reality now known as VR concept was just a thought? There were some prototypes, but unfortunately, they were far from becoming a reality. The only VR devices that were on the market by that time were heavy, huge machines that weren’t portable at all.
I can get inspiration from anywhere but I never thought it would be from my neighborhood fast food place. Truth is, it’s not just my neighborhood restaurant, McDonald’s is one of the most successful worldwide brands and they just introduced a similar strategy to my company. Maybe they were inspired by us?
At TeamBonding we love having the chance to help our clients give back and helping their communities. It’s even better when we can help companies focus on their corporate social responsibilities and actually have an impact instead of creating vague initiatives. Part of the fun for us is coming up with new ideas and creating new programs to continue giving back. We have a variety of programs from our Charity Bike Build and Team Teddy Rescue Bear programs, Operation Military Care to provide care packages to our troops, all the way to Paws for a Cause where you make dog beds, pull toys, or cat scratchers for animals in shelters – among so many other charitable program options!
Mention team building and you’ll see a lot of eye rolls. Mention that you’ve planned a team building event and the room will fill with groans. To a lot of people, team building feels like a corporate buzzword synonymous with forced participation, uncomfortable interaction and just a means to an end. Some think of it as purely a waste of time, taking them away from work they could be doing.
