In this hands-on team building event, your group will build and decorate raised garden beds, tackle fun garden-themed trivia, and pick up a few tips on companion planting along the way. Sow the seeds of teamwork through shared purpose and playful learning in this hands-on team building garden activity. Sprout into action with the Companion Planting Challenge, an engaging game that demonstrates which plants thrive best in the same garden bed.
With tools in hand and teamwork in bloom, you’ll roll up your sleeves to build raised garden beds from the ground up. Once the beds are built, it’s time for creativity to blossom! Teams personalize their planters with artwork, custom designs, and messages that reflect your company’s values and team spirit.
With their new gardening know-how, teams then select seed pairings designed to support healthy, sustainable growth. These beautifully built and decorated planters, along with the seeds, are donated to local schools, food banks, or community gardens—supporting wellness, education, and food security.
Whether your group is full of seasoned green thumbs or gardening newbies, Productive Planters is the perfect garden activity for teams who want to grow closer while giving back—all in full bloom.
Space requirement

Large open space is required for this program. Ideally, each team will have a table and chairs for each participant – as long as there is enough space to move around them. This event can be done outdoors, or even inside using tarps to protect the carpet from any soil spills. We will also need access to nearby running water.
