A Song About Powerful Love
“Remind Me to Forget” – Kygot ft. Miguel
Kygo is a Norwegian DJ, songwriter, and producer. In 2015 he became the fastest artist to reach 1 million streams on Spotify and is best known for hit singles such as, “I See Fire” ft Ed Sheeran and “Firestone” ft. Conrad Sewell. Miguel is an American singer, songwriter from California. He incorporates R&B, hip hop, rock, and electronic in his music. The two artists collaborated on the hit track “Remind Me to Forget” in 2018. The song deals with having a powerful love so deep that it’s nearly impossible to forget the memories. Despite the relationship ending badly it still leaves a mark. Whether it’s a relationship or a friendship we all have people in our lives that have left an impression, (good or bad) that we will never forget.
“…Maybe you left your mark, reminding me to forget?”
Lyrics
Your kiss like broken glass on my skin
And all the greatest loves end in violence
It’s tearing up my voice, left in silence
Maybe you left your mark, reminding me to forget
It doesn’t matter where you are, you can keep my regret
‘Cause baby, I got these scars, reminding me to forget
Reminding me, I got these scars, to forget your love
Keep reminding me, ooh, to forget your love
You left your mark, reminding me to forget
You left your burn (in my heart)
You left your mark (under my skin)
You left your mark, reminding me to forget
You left your burn (in my heart)
You left your mark (under my skin)
Hurt me to the core, still healing
And I know you’re no good for me
So I try to forget the memories
Maybe you left your mark, reminding me to forget
It doesn’t matter where you are, you can keep my regret
Baby, I got these scars, reminding me to forget
You left your mark, reminding me to forget
You left your burn (in my heart)
You left your mark (under my skin)
To save it, it’s over
And I’ll be alright
So hurt me as much as you like
I need you to let go
I got these mementos
And I’ll be alright, yeah
Maybe you left your mark, reminding me to forget
It doesn’t matter where you are, you can keep my regret
Baby, I got these scars, reminding me to forget
You left your mark, reminding me to forget
You left your burn (in my heart)
You left your mark, reminding me to forget
