Bring STEAM learning to life by creating hands-on paddle boat kits designed to spark curiosity and creativity in young learners. Volunteers will paint and assemble paddle boats, add encouraging mentoring notes, and package each kit with helpful tips and supplies.

Build STEAM learning kits for kids!
Hands-on learning can make complex STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, and Mathematics) concepts more engaging, memorable, and accessible. Yet students from low-income families are less likely to have opportunities to participate in STEAM activities outside of school. This experience helps close that gap by putting a fun, interactive learning activity directly into students’ hands.
Volunteers will design and paint their own paddle boats before assembling the finished boats and adding tips and tricks to help students get the most out of the activity. They’ll also write a personal mentoring note for the recipient, customize a cloth bag, and pack the complete kit for shipping.
Each kit provides an opportunity to build, experiment, and discover. By combining creativity with hands-on learning, volunteers help inspire confidence and show young learners that STEAM can be fun, approachable, and full of possibilities.
