Turn greeting cards into messages that grow
What if a greeting card could keep giving long after it was received? Cards That Grow transforms a simple message into an opportunity to make a positive environmental impact. Made from biodegradable, plantable paper embedded with seeds, each card can be planted after it’s read and eventually grow into herbs or flowers.
Volunteers will start by learning about the environmental impact of traditional greeting cards and taking a fun sustainability quiz. They’ll then design two plantable greeting cards, write personal messages for their recipients, and prepare recycled envelopes for mailing. Each kit also supports tree planting, helping offset carbon emissions while contributing to healthier ecosystems and wildlife habitats.
The result is a meaningful experience that connects people, purpose, and the planet. Instead of ending up in the trash, each card can grow into something new, turning a thoughtful message into a lasting act of sustainability.
