With a mission to broaden access to cycling and its many benefits, Bikes for the Biosphere has teams building and donating adult bicycles for local Community Centers. As modes of transport go, they don’t come much ‘greener’ than cycling. Every turn of the pedal helps protect our planet in one way or another.

Building bikes, building futures.
Make the world a better place, one pedal at a time.
From handlebars to hope, protecting the environment is not impossible! Each time someone swaps a steering wheel for handlebars, it can make a significant impact. Cycling benefits everyone by improving happiness, health, safety, connectivity, and the environment, making our society socially and economically stronger as we combat climate change.
During this event, participants will work together as teams to build adult bicycles for individuals who lack transportation in exchange for a sustainable option donation. By donating these bicycles locally, you will help make transportation more accessible to individuals. Teams will compete in challenges that educate them about the advantages of cycling and then collaborate to construct adult bicycles that will be donated to individuals in need of transportation.
In our Bikes for the Biosphere, teams will gain a deeper understanding of sustainable transportation and environmental protection, and will leave with a sense of empowerment to make a positive impact on their community.
Space requirement

Large open space for building and going through an obstacle course, tables and chairs for each team, HDMI compatible screen, can be done indoors or outdoors in a covered area.
