When a manager puts a corporate outing on his or her employees’ calendars, the typical response tends to be groans, eyerolls, and at best, shrugs of passive acceptance. After all, corporate events aren’t exactly the most thrilling way to spend one’s time. Whether it’s an annual meeting, training session, or company offsite, these sort of events usually include lame leaders, awkward icebreakers, and dull seminars on professional development.
