Frequently Asked Questions
What Is Concierge-Level Custom Team Building?
A concierge typically refers to someone who provides high-level service, like hotel staff who run errands and make accommodations for high-end clients. In the context of team building, the meaning is similar—it refers to customized corporate events.
These are bespoke team building events with service that goes above and beyond. Instead of the service typically used for team building events, these events offer high-quality, customized experiences.
It’s tough to get an idea of what custom team building is and looks like just from definitions, though. So let’s look at what we do at TeamBonding to offer concierge-level team building experiences.
It’s all about getting to know your company and team. We’ll take a deep look at the team, their needs, and your goals to ensure the event(s) will be a perfect fit.
For example, say there’s a highly competitive sales team looking to let loose, have some fun, and build bonds. We’ll take that into consideration and customize an event that fits those exact needs, such as an art or charity-related event.
It may sound simple, but it’s far from it. Every team is unique, and so are their needs. With so many options (we have over 200 programs in our catalog), we work hard to ensure you get the perfect event for your team and needs.
Our highly skilled crew uses their years of experience in team building to understand what your team needs and choose or design an event that is perfectly suited for you.
These programs come with concierge-level service, providing businesses with the best experience and service possible.
What Are the Benefits of Custom Team Building Activities?
There are already several benefits of team building, and custom team building events amplify them.
Increased Employee Engagement
One of the biggest benefits is increased employee engagement—engaged employees are more efficient and motivated, and less likely to leave. Custom team building is a proven way to boost engagement with fun but challenging activities and events.
Higher Morale
Another benefit is higher morale. Employees work better when they’re happy and healthy. Low morale has many negative consequences, and custom team building is a great way to address this issue and ensure your employees are excited about work.
Better Team Dynamics
Custom team building also improves team dynamics, communication, and cooperation between co-workers. Giving employees an opportunity to bond and learn more about each other in a fun context can greatly improve overall team dynamics.
Improved Applicable Skills
These custom events can also help employees improve specific skills, such as problem-solving, leadership, conflict management—whatever you want to focus on! These skills are crucial for success, and team building can help improve them all.
Just tell us which skills you’d like to focus on, and we’ll make it happen. If we don’t already have an event that checks all the boxes, custom team building lets us step in and create a new, unique program that perfectly suits your needs.
Stronger Company Culture
Custom team building can also strengthen and align company culture and values. This, in turn, helps improve employee synergy, motivation, engagement, loyalty, and morale.
What Options Do You Have for Custom Team Building Experiences?
Looking at some of our events and programs can help you get a better idea of what customized team building looks like in real life. You can customize any of our existing programs to create a bespoke team building experience for your team.
That in mind, we’ll break down some of our events by type, but if none of them fit what you’re looking for, no worries. Just let us know and we’ll create the perfect experience for your team.
Creative Problem-Solving Activities
These activities are some of the most popular team building events—and for good reason. They’re fun and incredibly effective at improving problem-solving skills, engagement, and employee morale.
Creative problem-solving events are also extraordinary for customization. For example, escape rooms and live action games can be customized to challenge specific skills, ranging from creativity and problem-solving to communication and collaboration.
Communication and Collaboration Activities
Speaking of communication and collaboration, there are lots of options that focus on these skills specifically. For example, comedy improv events are fun ways to encourage team members to communicate more effectively, and they’re highly customizable.
Scavenger hunts—our Amazing Race Scavenger Hunt, for example—are another of our favorites to customize. They’re fantastic for communication and collaboration, and we can tailor them for any company, location, team, or skillset.
Social and Relationship-Building Activities
Another popular request we get is for activities designed to improve social dynamics and team relationships. We can customize almost any event with these goals in mind, and we have plenty of relationship-building options to pick from.
For example, Cooking for a Cause is a fun activity that’ll have your team cooking and preparing meals for a local food bank, helping the community as your team learns more about each other and builds relationships that’ll strengthen team dynamics.
Corporate Volunteering Activities
Our custom corporate event planning team loves working on volunteering activities. Corporate social responsibility (CSR) activities offer a wealth of opportunities to engage and inspire your team members.
The bottom line on CSR is that it offers numerous benefits to both the employees and the employer. When these events are turned into custom team building experiences, you’ll double the impact with an event that’s meaningful to everyone involved.
What Do TeamBonding Customized Programs Look Like in Practice?
At TeamBonding, we have over 35 years of experience with custom corporate event planning. From the world’s largest scavenger hunt to small CSR charity events, we have a history of facilitating incredible bespoke team building activities.
Here are a couple of real-world examples of custom team building events we’ve run for our clients:
Custom Wagon-Building Event
One of our favorites was a custom wagon-building event. Why wagons? Well, hospitals often use wagons instead of wheelchairs to transport kids, and this helps provide some fun and excitement in stressful situations.
With this event, teams customized wagons to be used in hospitals for transporting kids. It was an incredibly fun event where team members got to express their creativity and work together while letting those employees give back and truly make a difference.
Changing Things Up for an Engineering Team
Another favorite was something we created for an engineering team that wanted to get out of their comfort zone. Their work environment was fairly non-competitive, so we decided to put them in a highly competitive game!
The event they went with was In It to Win It, and it turned out to be exactly what they were looking for. We customized hilarious 60-second challenges that kept them on their toes the entire time and inspired some great friendly competition!
How Does the TeamBonding Custom Team Building Process Work?
Here’s a quick breakdown of the steps in our process:
Consultation
First, you’ll consult with our experts to discuss your team’s needs, your company, and your goals. Our crew will learn as much as possible to ensure they have the information necessary for the next step.
Brainstorming
When we begin brainstorming, our crew will work together to find or creatively develop a program that matches the unique needs of your team. This step is key—it’s when we work hard to think outside of the box and create the best possible experience.
Planning
Once we’ve chosen or created the perfect event, our experienced corporate event planning team will start nailing down details and scheduling to ensure everything goes off without a hitch. We’ll work with you as needed to prepare for success.
Execution
On the day of the event, our facilitators will run the entire program from beginning to end so that you and your team can focus on enjoying the custom experience. But it doesn’t stop here. There’s one more step!
Follow-up
Finally, we’ll follow up with you shortly after the event to gather your feedback and evaluate the event. This helps us continuously improve and ensure that our events are as impactful as possible.
