A Desire to Succeed Will Lead to Team Building Success

“In order to succeed, your desire for success should be greater than your fear of failure.” – Bill Cosby

Sometimes all you need is a pick-me-up, and this week’s team bonding quote comes from one of the greatest comedians of all time: Bill Cosby. Although this quote is not one of his funniest, it is inspirational and pays tribute to the fact that Bill Cosby was an educated, driven man.

When people think of Bill Cosby, most think about his hilarious stand-up comedian routines or his creation of The Bill Cosby Show, but he made an even bigger difference in the world.

Bill Cosby received a doctorate in education by creating the educational cartoon comedy series Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids, about a group of young friend growing up in Philadelphia. In every episode the gang would learn a lesson about anything from vandalism and racism to child abuse and gun violence. Cosby wanted to make a difference in the world, and he thought that by inspiring and educating the youth he would be able to accomplish his goal.

We all start somewhere.

Cosby got his start at various clubs around the San Francisco area before landing a starring role in the action show I Spy.  He developed his passion for comedy and entertainment while in the armed forces by joking with fellow enlistees in the service.

In college, Cosby was a bartender and had the ability to make people laugh in order to earn money for tips. It was then where he started to realize his talent and began to follow his dreams. He decided to pursue comedy and travel the country. His desire to succeed was fearless, and he had the drive to achieve greatness.

You cannot be afraid to fail.

Comedy is an industry that makes a person very vulnerable, but that is the reason it is respected so much. Comedians are not afraid to fail and believe that success is their only option.
