In this series of articles we take five minutes to chat with a member of the TeamBonding team so you can get an idea of the sort of people we are.
In this installment of Meet the Team, we chat with one of our passionate Team Building Facilitators, Russ. Besides his love for facilitating, Russ loves black & white films, and is a major fan of Frank Sinatra. Sounds like he may be stuck in the wrong decade!
How long have you been working with TeamBonding?
I have been with TeamBonding for six years.
What got you started in facilitating?
I wanted to do something that utilized my background in sales, retail, management, stand-up comedy, and performing. I placed an ad listing all these qualities and someone from TeamBonding called and asked if I would like to become a facilitator… and it has been a blast. I love the energy, passion and excitement of a TeamBonding event. I work with some of the funniest and most talented people around and I am usually guaranteed to laugh and have a fun time at every event… how many jobs can guarantee that?
What do you do with your spare time?
I enjoy playing golf, working in the yard, and/or watching old movies. If it is an old black & white, film noir mystery, I am hooked!
Where is your favorite place in the world to be?
Las Vegas! I am a big fan of Frank Sinatra and the whole Rat Pack vibe, so I enjoy going and searching for relics from that time period. The Elvis statue at the Hilton, the Liberace museum and the neon graveyard, and all the remnants of that classic time in Vegas history.
What advice would you give to your younger self?
Don’t be afraid to take risks! As someone once said, the pain of regret outweighs the pain of failure.
The most annoying thing in the world according to you is:
Besides rudeness, people who don’t use their turn signals while driving!
What can’t you live without?
Music. I spent a good number of years managing a record store and music has been a huge part of my life. I can’t even run an errand without making sure I have the right music for the trip!
Describe yourself in three words:
Passionate, smart, and funny
Do you have a favorite food?
Growing up in New England, I love seafood!
Something people may not know about you:
I drove limousines in college and was once a traffic reporter for WBZ radio.
The most important things in life are:
Family, friends and happiness. Do what you love, enjoy life.
Thanks for letting us get to know you a little better, Russ! Stay tuned to see who is featured on next week’s Meet The Team!
