Your Success is Our Success

philanthropy

Yesterday we received an email from a client about her experience with our charity bike build. As per usual, the email was forwarded from our Event Managers to our Client Solutions Managers to our Facilitators on to our Production Team and then circulated around the rest of our office. Each forward contained a message of support, congratulations and thanks for a job well done. One particular message stated, “This is probably the best review I have ever read.” Could that be true? I have included it below – you can decide.

Holiday Parties that Rock – Ideas to make your party profitable

party

It seems that many budget lines have felt the wrath of the delete button over the years, but the Holiday Party remains.  From social drinks and meal to a couples dance and annual awards – the holiday party is holding strong. That being said, as a forward thinking manager you can utilize the holiday party budget for some team development.

Team building is inspired by one of 3 F’s – Fun, Fast Forward and Fix.  Fix is when we have a super tuff group with dynamic issues and is not functioning at their peak – and that’s not something we are going to work on over the holidays – we’ll have plenty of that with our in-laws visiting (LOL). 5 Tips for Team Bonding in a Hybrid Meeting

ebay

The following is a set of five tips we discovered from Richard Davies, Head of European employee communications, EBAY.

1. Win your audience every session – your brand is only as good as your last briefing. Hold yourself accountable for the time your audience invests in your meeting.
2. Coach your presenters to be engaging and work effectively with a camera. Give them meaningful feedback on their performance.
3. Ensure the content is the most important thing you are talking about each week. Explain why everyone needs to know about an item and if you can’t do that, drop it from the agenda.
4. Don’t let speakers run over their time.
5. Make sure people leave the room with a spring in their step.

What we need to do is learn to work in the system, by which I mean that everybody, every team, every platform, every division, every component is there not for individual competitive profit or recognition, but for contribution to the system as a whole on a win-win basis. Read more ›

Team Vampires – How to Stop the Bite of Negative Team Members

teamVampireShirt

Halloween is just around the corner. My daughters are picking out their ghoulish costumes … one a princess the other a dead bride (gulp). Seems as kids get older the scarier their costumes get, my princess is 5 and my bride is 10. By the time kids become adults they can get even scarier — some even become Vampires, and they wear their costume to work, everyday.

In the following article, I’m going to talk a bit about how to deal with those Team Vampires and stop their negative bite. Read more ›
