April 2009 Newsletter

Hello Teambonding Friends,

Yesterday was opening day. A rite of spring a passage of winter and my favorite day of the year. I could just smell the hot dogs and see the peanut vendor and hear the crack of the bat. It’s a new day and I wanted to recognize that with a new kind of newsletter. A few years ago I had the privilege of going behind the scenes at Fenway Park and since then, the Jelly Belly factory, the Coke factory and at Disney. I wanted to share with you a little behind the scenes at TeamBonding. We also need to boost morale, recognize accomplishment and share with our office staff and our facilitators. Below you will see our most recent “internal” newsletter so that you can see what we share with our own staff. I hope you enjoy it as much as they do.

Hello TeamBonding Team,

We are making it through this economic downturn with planning, determination and hard work. And we are starting to augment our incoming business from our various websites, SEO and Google marketing with a proactive, outbound marketing campaign directed at creating partners with DMCs, Event Planners, Meeting Planners and Venues like Hotel Resorts and Convention Centers.

David Goldstein is also testing a “Live Chat” feature to www.TeamBondingWest.com so that potential clients can ask questions right from our website in live time! This is a real cool, cutting-edge tool. If this “Live Chat” feature works out well, we can add it to our other websites.

And in case you missed it, there is our TeamBonding video on YouTube: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=VdO0dblhmbs

TeamBonding Birthdays (from around the globe): Christian Galpin (MA) on Mar 22, Sheryl Miniscalco (MA) on April 5, Chris Tarakson (Australia) on April 7, Scott Finlay (Canada) on April 19, and Ben Glibert (OR) on April 20.

Game Show Mania: “I just wanted to let you know how great Ray Assanti was with the “Game Show Mania” event last Thursday. He kept the crowd in an upbeat mood, kept the game moving along to meet our time constraints, and was very personable to everyone. This event really made the afternoon fun! The game was also a great catalyst to have the department actually pay attention to our goals & objectives. I also have to compliment you on the structure of the game. The pop culture questions were a good mix to encompass the wide age range of our group – good job! Our group is still talking about it! If I am tasked to be part of another event preparation team, you can be sure that TeamBonding will be considered!”

Richard Cooper and his staff have been getting accolades month after month for his Recipe for Success programs. Here are a few to get you all caught up on their excellent work.

Richard Cooper, “Thank you so much for the fabulous event last night. The team can’t stop talking about Team Cuisine and we’ve received rave reviews all around. Some of the comments that I’ve heard is that people feel re-energized and ready to go. I know that we were working to pull all of the details together at the last minute and I appreciate your flexibility! We’ll definitely be use Recipe for Success in the future. Thanks again!”
D. L. - San Mateo Marriott

Richard Cooper, “Thanks again for helping us have an enjoyable time at our retreat a couple of weeks ago! I also appreciate the box of Simply Divine Brownies! I shared it with my colleagues who only heard about the training but never participated. We are currently thinking of inviting you back for another group of colleagues during the week of June 29. We'll provide details and confirmation shortly. Thanks and hope your business continues to blossom, as the spring!”
Yolanda H.

Richard Cooper, “I just wanted to take a moment to thank you for the outstanding job with our Fare to Share event. The attendees loved every minute of that event. They are still talking about it. So, thanks to you for an awesome job! Also, I just received these great looking brownies! I love the logo and can’t wait to taste! Thanks again and I hope we will have the opportunity to work together again sometime!”
Lorrie S.

Catapult for Success: “We very much enjoyed the Catapult for Success program. We were very impressed with our facilitator Bradley Van Dussen, who did a great job of making it fun and keeping everyone involved. We will definitely use your company again in the future. Thanks and have a great day!”
S. C. - M.J. Harris

School for Spies: “I thought our School for Spies was fantastic. Your team was fun and also did a great job. And Scott Winters was perfect in his role. I will certainly plan on using you guys again in the future, as well as recommending your company to others who may be looking for something like that. I appreciate your help and look forward to speaking with you again!”
Sincerely, L. J. - Bayer (from Nanci Kirkland)

Urban Scaventure: “Thanks again for a great Urban Scaventure Hunt. I received great feedback and everyone enjoyed themselves greatly. Black and Booz was still demanding a re-count. We had great laughs and stories to tell. We are hoping to show off the pictures at our next team meeting. Otherdepartments have already heard of the great success and want to see if they can do it for their team. You just might hear from Booz Allen again!”
(from Dyanne DiRosario)

Dancing Through the Decades: “More proof God exists: I didn’t pull a muscle doing a karate kick dressed as Elvis…! What a show…great stuff and the crowd just loved it. They even asked “how many times do you guys perform this show” LOL! Why was the show sogreat? The talent you hired. Paul - without his mastery of music, mixing and video…well obviously the show would not be a show.Christina – what can’t she do?Duane – sings so well and can mix and mingle like no other.Makes people feel very welcomed. Charlotte –In a word…WOW. This woman never ceases to amaze me…how she can immediately grasp a show’s flow and assist the other actors. She has costumes that fit everyone too, she sings, she dances and has amazing capacity to sense an audience and respond to it. In addition, she can immediately notice when a group or individual audience member has not had any “attention” by us…she can envelope them so well. I just had to let you know.”
Bradley Van Dussen

I assure you that we are not only getting through this tough time, we are positioning ourselves for growth on the other side by making improvements in every area of the company; from programming to marketing. We’ve had time to catch our breath and address issues we did not have the time for when we were flat out. Your programs are better than ever, our facilitators are at the top of their game and our marketing never ceases to amaze our clients. David has built some extremely impressive websites and I think our proactive marketing plan will build a whole new foundation for us to grow upon.

As always, thank you all for what you do!

This was written by Scott Flynn who handles the West Coast and I thank him for doing this every month. I hope you enjoyed it. Let our team help your team in whatever capacity you require form a summer outing to a training workshop to a philanthropic team building event.

We look forward to working with you soon.
